I have been testing TagPig, and I like it a lot, but the accuracy needs a lot of work. I tried a lot of the suggestions made and it only helped to some extent.
One thing I think would help a lot, is not to display tags that are very similar. For example, on my coin site I am getting tags like this

Morgan silver dollar
The morgan silver dollar
Morgan silver dollar coin
Morgan dollar
The morgan dollar
Morgan coins
Morgan silver
Silver dollar
Silver dollar coin

There is no need to have so much duplicate. Especially when I have "morgan silver dollar" in my preferred tags list. If there is any way to make it smart enough to trim this down to these two rather than so many iterations of the same thing which just mucks up the tag cloud.

The big problem I have is for example on my coin site, I get so many somewhat duplicate tags and tags I really don’t want.

For example, when talking about Morgan Silver Dollars, I get lots of tags like this

United States
Philadelphia
Chicago

And then all the duplicate tags that are mostly the same thing (like morgan silver, morgan silver dollar, the morgan silver dollar, all in the same post).

I’m hoping when you release the update that uses multiple sources to pick common tags, this increases the relevancy a lot. I know there is only so much you can do when it is an automated system, but there are things that can be done to reduce the tags that are very similar from showing up on the same post. Also, I would suggest you put heavy weight on previously used tags so instead of showing 5 tags similar to the word morgan silver dollar, it will know to use “morgan silver dollar” since it was used many times in the past, and is in fact in the preferred tags, rather than using morgan dollar (which has two of the 3 words) or even “the morgan silver dollar”.

Can you add tag rotation as an option so it can be turned off if required (some sites I would like to turn this off, some I would like to leave it on).

My main goal is to make the tags as close to the ideal keywords I want to target less arbitrary words that show up. If I spend the time ahead of time finding a list of keywords that have volume and traffic, and I put that in preferred tags, it should put a lot of weight to that and use them much more often. You can easily put hundred or more preferred tags to give it a very large pool. Still would like it to pick some of its own, but maybe having an option that allows you to give weight to preferred tags (0-100), 100 being it always uses preferred tags only that way you can give it some guidance.
