CommentPiG Link Settings
The Link Settings section offers a very powerful way to covertly include your own links within your blogs. Most blogs allow comment posters to link their name to a URL.
You can do exactly the same with CommentPiG but instead you can add your own links or mix them up with other random or authority outbound links.
There are a lot different ways to leverage the link injection system, I’ll explain the main settings in this video.
In the Global section you choose what percentage of all your comment names will be linked.
Don’t worry at this stage about where they will linked.
Setting this to 0% means that no comment usernames will be linked.
Setting it to 100% means that all comment usernames will be linked.
Setting it to a percentage between 0-100 then a proportion of all comment names will be linked.
I’ll set this to 75% meaning that three quarters of all my comment usernames will be linked.
In order to tackle comment spam most blogs now automatically add a NoFollow tag to outbound links.
CommentPiG allows you to choose whether search engines should follow your outbound links.
Choosing DO means that search engines will follow Global Links and NO means that they won’t.
Note – this setting is for Global Links only. Don’t worry about linking to your own sites just yet.
You can also choose if the Global Links should be chosen randomly from safe sites in the Yahoo Directory or you can link to authority sites which appear in the top 50 for the Yahoo search result for the target keyword.
You can also choose both sources to give a blended approach.
Now you have decided what proportion of all comments should contain links you need to specify what proportion of all the linked comments should link to your own sites and affiliate links.
Simply enter a percentage from 1 – 100 into the box.
I’m going to set this to 66%.
As with Global Links can now choose whether search engines should follow your Own Links by changing the DO or NO Follow setting.
Finally enter a list-of your own links in the use these sites box. Enter one URL per line.
CommentPiG will select your links randomly from this list.
These settings would result in 75% or three quarter of all comment names being linked in some way.
66% of those linked usernames will point to a random link from the My Sites list and search engines will follow these links. This equates to 50% of all comments posted.
The other 34% of linked usernames will point to a safe random URL from the Yahoo Directory and search engines will not follow these links
Experiment with your own settings to get the perfect mix for your sites.
Save your settings when done.
