Invalid API Key

If you are seeing the Invalid API Key warning message or if the Your Licenses field below the API key is showing the Fail message or an incomplete list of products, please follow these steps:

1 Make sure you’ve entered the correct API Key

It is a common mistake to copy/paste an incomplete API Key, so please double check the value you’ve entered.

More info about finding and entering the API key can be found in this FAQ article.

2 Force the plugin to refresh the list of licenses

If you’ve just upgraded your plugin, it is possible that the list of licenses has not been yet synchronized with our server. In order to force the plugin to refresh the data, please, clear the API key field, click the Save button, re-enter the API key and click the Save button again.

The complete list of licenses should be now displayed in the Your Licenses field.

3 Confirm that your web server is not blocking outbound HTTP requests

Some web servers have an additional layer of security enabled by default, so they do not allow your site to contact any or most of the other sites. This also prevents our plugins from verifying the API Key as it needs to contact http://blogpig.com/ in order to do it.

Also, some of the plugins (e.g. TagPiG, CommentPiG) depend on retrieving outside content and they will not work properly if outbound HTTP requests are blocked.

For the Comment Extractor applications which run on your desktop, please make sure your firewall and other security software are configured to allow outbound requests to http://blogpig.com/

If everything seems OK, but you’re still seeing the Invalid API Key warning or an incomplete products list, please open a ticket and we’ll get back to you.
